TANtec offers the following three methods of connecting computers online by telephone or internet:

1. Remote Maintenance using TightVNC.

Systems configured for remote maintenance can be accessed and operated by employees of TANtec. This way it is possible to install updates and provide help in case of problems. So the employee can operate the computer by remote connection and explain themes of troubleshooting by telephone. This doesn't only regard TANtec software, but all settings of the computer can be controllerd and adjusted.

2. Remote Query using TANtec software.

Systems configured for remote query can be accessed by the PC at customers home and a TANtec network connection will be established. This way the customer can query the current sales data of the tanning salon and use familiar TANtec software for evaluations. Furthermore it is possible to change settings online as if the customer is working at a network station inside the tanning salon.

3. Remote Network using TANtec software

This methods connects several tanning salons to use all magnetic cards in all tanning salons of the network. When a customer changes the tanning salon, the system calls the tanning salon the customer former visited to get the entry out of the index of persons. This entry remains in the 'old' salon, but will be locked and can't be changed any more. In the 'new' salon the customer now is treated like using a local magnetic card. When the customer comes back again the entry will be reactivated in the 'old' salon and locked in the 'new' salon.
When there are more than two tanning salons in the network, it is possible to exchange informations about the current location of relocated customers. This prevents the system from trying several times to find a customer who relocated several times. This exchange can be made daily or in intervals of several days, e.g. during remote query.
